Fate or Destiny?

It's probably the most debated topics out  there. One always wonders whether he lives a life that is just his fate's way or is he living his destiny.
Now there is, quite a big difference between fate and destiny. Essentially they are opposite in meaning.Fate is something bad or rather negative in nature. On the other hand, Destiny is positive. Fate is what happens on its own. It's unpredictable and the course of its nature cannot be changed. It happens regardless of what you might think or do. Whereas destiny is what you make of life. Everyone can chose their destiny. It's all the result of their choices over a period of time.

I'm a staunch believer. I believe God is the reason for my existence and survival. So in between the fate and destiny, there's one big person that actually determines your life. And that is God. You might think it's karma when u start suffering.  But in fact all that wouldn't happen if God did not want it to happen in your life.
So before you start blaming other people for your bad life or take credit to yourself for your good life, or before you blame it on destiny and fate or even perhaps God. Just stop a moment. Give it a thought. Just because you play a blame game, doesn't mean that you can get over life. You have to start taking control of your life. Accept whatever has come your way. Believe that everything happens for a reason. Strive to find the reason. Pray more. There's nothing that God will allow to happen in your life that isn't a part of his perfect little plan for your life. If you believe that God is with you then you can live life with faith that there's something big awaiting. Or else you are just living a selfish life of destiny and karma.

Brown Family Problems

Namaste! :) I hail from a brown family with rich Indian roots. Now that sucks. The diversity in culture and language might be good. But honestly Indian traditional customs are so narrow minded. They play a lot of importance on family values. Well, in one way that could be good and I do appreciate it but on the other hand it goes to an extreme end. I do realise that times are changing but this is not a problem that goes away so easy. No matter how modern a family you say you come from; as long as your Indian, you face the same issue. They care too much about what society thinks and mind you, Indian society is very bitchy and judgemental! Every neighbour or older person ( called uncles or aunties) play a major role in your life. You may try your best to keep them out of your life. But they ain't going nowhere. They will have a say in your life. They end up being the ones deciding where you study, who your friends are and ultimately who you get married to! This is the most ab...

Realists & Dreamers

So I came across this while watching an episode of modern family and it really got me thinking. I'm just gonna quote the lines below: "There are dreamers and there are realists in this world, you think the dreamers would find the dreamers and the realists would find the realists but more often than not the opposite is true. See the dreamers need the realists to keep the dreamers from soaring too close to the sun. And the realists? Well without the dreamers, they might not ever get off the ground." Yea well people might be divided broadly into two categories: You are either a Realist or a Dreamer, An Optimist or a Pessimist. I consider myself a Realist. A Realist is a person who considers every aspect to a situation before making a decision. It's not that he is afraid to dream ; just that he realises that sometimes the dreams may be too far fetching. He could be termed as a pessimist. We are those kind people who only dive into stuff after  thinking abo...

Brown Family Problems #2

And continuing from my previous post.. Dowry as I said earlier is kind of like a price tag. You hit the bull's eye when you get your target right on the money. It's quite a debated topic with a lot of laws in place to abolish the practice of accepting dowry; but that's all just in paper. In order to come into effect it's gonna take a long time. It basically means changing the mindset of a chunk of society which can be quite the challenge. Another thing about Indian marriages or so would be the qualification of the bride and groom. If the bride is a doctor then she can only get married to a doctor. Equally important is your religion or caste . Getting married to a person not from the same caste or religion is like the biggest sin anyone could commit. If  He/she proceeds with a marriage of such sort, they would bring on themselves the shun of society and family. The family would practically disown you and kick you out. Trust me I am not exaggerating when I s...
